Welcome back! The Wrestling Roundtable returns as we talk about attending the first New Jersey pay per view for Total Nonstop Action, Hard Justice. What was it like seeing a TNA show live for the first time? What was the crowd and production like? Are “Fire Russo” chants fair? Should they use less gimmick matches and backstage segments? Names discussed include X Division Champion Petey Williams, Consequences Creed, The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky), Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde, Amazing Kong, Tag Team Champions LAX(The Notorious 187 Homicide & Hotstuff Hernandez), Beer Money(Robert Roode & James Storm with Miss Jacqueline), Booker T, Sting, Kevin Nash, The Guru Sonjay Dutt, Black Machismo Jay Lethal, The Phenomenal AJ Styles, Kurt Angle & more. Hosted by Eric Santamaria. * The views expressed on The Wrestling Roundtable are solely those of the individual and do not necessarily reflect the views of any other entity, person or organization *

2:39 i’ve never EVER seen Eric Santamaria laugh like that. Congratz Chris “not that Chris” Harris
Good point, I know this is a response to an old post, but what the hell? What would WWE learn from Jenna vs. Sharmell? LOL
yea i,m a shimmer fan all the way
WWE Divas should learn from TNA Knockouts! It’s not the looks and style on the body, but the looks and style of fighting in the ring!
And seeing the WWE targeting Kids, why the hell have Divas in the first place??
I mean, WWE became a family show! Not enough males, unless maybe dumbass Teenagers (no offense), but specifically adult men, would actually appreciate them because well…THEY ARE MARRIED!!
Why TNA didn’t get a good attendance? I have a theory and it’s very simple, and it’s not because it is another WWE or not a WWE kind of wrestling….
ADVERTISE!! BRANDING!! I haven’t seen one TNA commerical in my entire life, (on broadcast tv stations I repeat).
The Rock is half samoan and shouldve had one boot on is hilarious LOL. But in any event I like Priceless, or Legacy, or whatever because after years of watching guys like Snitsky, and Luther Reigns, and Chris Masters, and Heidenreich raping Michael Cole, this is at least some non-jacked up guys (except for Ortons steroid use) who are getting a chance and they dont completley suck on the mic.
They stand up coz they have usually paid way too much money(in WWE’s case anyway)for the seats and they are excited to see stuff so they stand up!
It was a carefully rehearsed skit meticulously choreographed by 4 veteran actors.
I laughed because it was funny, heh. Nothing’s forced on this show, or at least it better not be. I laughed because I couldn’t even tell you how much $ I’ve blown on bitches, ha

2:48 were you laughing at that guy’s joke to make him feel like he was actually funny? Your laugh seems very forced. LOL
Hey is it me or is this sting vs joe fued a wcw 2000 storyline all over again, which I mean the new blood storyline, new vs old type thing , pick your side etc. The only thing I think is that the 2000 angle had better talent.
sorry about yo damn luck!!! that’s my favorite.
i think TNA could be on the verge of a big break if they trim the fat a bit. By fat I mean all the gimmicky, 80s/early 90s feeling sophomoric shit that they use as filler (everyone who isn’t a headliner seems to have some annoying gimmick and no good storylines). also did any of you guys find it funny/strange that after 15 mins of ranting about pushing young guys the other night on Impact Jarrett than debuts friggin Mick Foley??!! I just can’t see what can really come out of that to be honest…
Yes! The best wrestling content on youtube is back.
im glad its sunny in philly , im nt a tna fan bt a wrestling fan an i still watch it i dnt jus watch the ppv in my view how can u gt in2 a ppv without seeing the build up jus doesnt make sense can ask do u see yorself as a fan or a critic
That would be me who has never seen The Beautiful People. TNA is shown here on Thursday nights when The Office and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia are on so I never watch it. Going into the PPV I don’t think I’ve seen anything TNA had done since Lockdown and before that was probably Bound For Glory 2007.
i was a hard justice!!!
i ncver sed u specificly bt one of yor members on the panel sed thy nver knew who the beatiful people were, an how u can call it 3 hours of sub par crap i nver knw in my view it was a extremly good wrestlemaina i can see the wcw cuming out in u tut tut

Certainly this year’s. I would have loved to have seen the Angle/Joe match live, I was hyped for that match.

I knew who the Beautiful People were, if that helps, heh. And I know wrestling fans would go do anything to go to a WrestleMania, but I’m not a sucker for that, sorry. I’ve been to one(WM20) and it was a good one, so I’ve had my fill. I would have loved to have seen Michaels/Flair, of course, but to sit through 3 more hours of sub-par crap just for that wasn’t worth the time & effort. There hasn’t been a WM main event that’s drawn me in since 20 anyway.

Firstly, you’re right that storylines should be used for lower card guys because as Lawrence has said on the show, belts are their own storyline. Not to say there can’t be storylines involving titles, but the point is why not give feuds & angles for lower guys to do when they don’t have titles to fight over? As for the rest, I disagree ; Russo writes like it’s real? Are you kidding? The creator of Kane, Mr. McMahon, The Ministry, etc.? The 80s joke is funny though, heh.

Thank you for your input & for viewing! That’s a pretty good resume for show attendance! heh

lockdown would of had a more ppv fell
I think his MMA interest, should he follow through with it, and his dissatisfaction with TNA’s direction are unrelated.
